Ascent to the Misti Volcano

ITINERARY

FIRST DAY : Arequipa- Base Camp (4800 m.a.s.l.)

• Pick up from the hotel, departure to Arequipa city at 8.00 a.m.The transfer will be done in a private mobility 4x4 till getting into the volcano skirts ( by Chiguata ), from there our walk will start till reaching 4800 m a s l for about 5 hours , there we will camp. On the way we will take a box lunch. We will have a panoramic view of the landscape and the countryside of Arequipa. The guide will prepare the dinner and the overnight.

SECOND DAY : Camp - Summit - Arequipa

• By 3:00 in the morning we will take a coca infussion then we will ascend towards the summit using a mountain equipment . We will surround the crater till we will reach the summit (5825 m.a.s.l.) where there is a Cross. Here we will observe the imposing crater as well as the volcanoes around Chachani and Pichupichu, and some other snowcovered peaks.
• We will stay in this place for about 30 min, then we will start the descent to the camp, and we will be returning to Arequipa city at approx. 16.00 horas, transfer to the hotel.
